 Ilustration: Anna Rafecas | Materia Prima - Contemporary Jewellery Materia Prima symbolizes the essence of contemporary jewellery: the creativity of new talents and the use of raw materials together, transform each piece of jewellery into a work of art. One of the most important topics regarding contemporary jewellery nowadays is the research into new materials and its properties. Barcelona Contemporary Jewellery Week, in collaboration with Artesania Catalunya, will hold a tour featuring artists, materials and his/her works. The exhibition starts with a historic tour through the main and most used materials in jewellery making. After that, it will introduce a carefully selection of Catalan and international artists to the audience. Pieces created using various materials and methods and inspired by a number of concepts will be shown in the exhibition.
